Whereas the University of Hong Kong (in this Order called "the University") is established and incorporated

under the University Ordinance, 1911, (in this order called "the Ordinance"; of the Colony of Hang Long (in this Order enlled "the Colon,") and provision is made for the Government of the university b. a Chancellor, aurt,

Council and Senate whose power's are prescribed by the

Grdinance and the Statute set forth in the Regulations of Hong Kong (1937 Edition) (in this order called "the

Statutes”.)

Au wheross circumstances have arisen in the Colony

by reason of which it is expedient that a Committee should

be appointed to exercise certain of the powers of the

Chancellor and the enate under the Ordinance and the

Now, therefore, is Majesty in exercise of all powera

enabling him in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the

advice o the Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby

ordered, as follows:-

The Interpretati n act 1009 shall apply for the

interpretation of this úrder as it applies for the

interpretation of en het of Parliament.

Constitution 2. (1) There shall be constituted a Committee to be known

Committes, consisting of such persons as a Secretary of State shell from time to time appoint, who shall hold office on such

terms as a Secretary of State may determine.

(2) One of the sombs shall be appointed by the Secretar

of tate to be chairman of the Committee. In the absence of

the Chair man for any meeting of the Comittee the members

present shall appoint one of their number to act as Chairman

for that meeting.
